Jumanji
As a kid, I barely understood anything, apart from the outlandish visuals and almost horrific escalation. Now I'm older, I've realised this was a display of so many messages. The consequences behind the tiniest of actions. The life-changing events and personal trauma. The generational abuse we pass onto society. The growth in teamwork and the decline in loneliness. Manhood, neglect, and failed dreams. So much more hidden beneath wild storytelling and comedy from natural-born comedians (entire cast). Witty one-liners, satirical acting, and some genius directing and editing. A timeless comfort movie for so many reasons.
