Joker: Folie à Deux

a cinematic masterpiece. i usually don’t like musicals but this actually hit. gaga & joaquin were so fucking good together. phoenix having to go through that physique still blows my mind. the cinematography was truly surreal, every shot, every camera movement was so precise and elegant. that long oner towards the climax was ridiculous. composition, lighting, & color pallet never missed. the makeup, costume design, sound design, set design, & score were all outstanding. got goosebumps when gaga & phoenix started singing “close to you” by carpenters. so much art in one film. wish we had a little more action, but still really enjoyed every second of it. 9 / 10

At one point Arthur says “just talk to me, stop singing” and I knew we were on the same page. This didn’t work at all for me and not a single song in this is memorable.

I appreciated the music and the creativity, but it lost me on times where I wished there were more points for dialogue rather than song. Cool to watch visually as always! But, ya know, not reaalllyy what I was anticipating.
