Joe Versus the Volcano Reviews

My dad told me to watch this a few years ago, told me it was something he saw in the 90s, he died two years ago and I just know got around to seeing it, miss you dad the movie was great.

Such a strange and fun movie. Meg Ryan is adorable and their chemistry is always great. A strange art film.

It was like an art movie made by someone in high school. It’s not bad but it’s very odd.

Interesting concept

I’d give this a 5/10, it was funny at certain parts but most of it was over the top. Not a big fan either of the climax.

One of my favorite quirky strange movies, a story like no other

6/10 lovely film with a nice sentiment, it’s up there with “Big Fish”. Both Hanks/Ryan glow together (being the 1st of the 3 films collaboration). Recommend.

A cute, stylized reminder to live your life. Some fun, quirky and ambitious design elements. Hanks and Ryan play well together.

This movie is great. Meg Ryan deserved a best supporting actress award.

Watched this out of morbid curiosity following a recent podcast discussing Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks romcoms. What the hell is this film and how did it get made? Even by 1990 standards this is really bizarre and terrible.

Weird movie, and not in a good way. I can see how some may like it but it’s just not for me.
