Would have given it a higher rating had it been less ambiguous. Every time I see a Christopher Lee performance, his icon status peaks that much higher. The man was and is a cinematic legend. The casting, locations, and scriptwriting were all executed so incredibly well. I can't speak on the historical accuracy, as I'm no expert on the subject matter, but some facts, like Britain's colonial involvement, are undeniable. Since the creation of Pakistan in 1947, the Kashmir region has been at the centre of a persistent conflict between India and Pakistan. Earlier this year, tensions nearly escalated into full-scale war. The convoluted story, both on screen and in reality, is fascinating and inspiring yet extremely heartbreaking and tragic.

A powerful, underrated gem. Christopher Lee gave a beautiful, stoic performance as Jinnah commanding and thoughtful presence. The film honors Pakistan’s founding with quiet reverence. I appreciated the effort to tell our story on screen. It’s a worthy film that tries.
