Johnny Depp, has one of the best performances of his career in a breathtaking, spectacular, incredible film. Words cannot describe the utter perfection of the acting, the colpire, the set design and most of all the masterful directing by Maïwenn!

It was interesting and the acting is pretty great. The costume, hair & makeup and decor are amazing. Johnny Depp’s French is very good, without much of an accent. The film is a bit long though and in the end, there wasn’t much challenges for the protagonist.

The production design and attention to detail is enough reason to watch this film. I do think the subject matter is romanticized but maybe that’s what they were going for. I enjoyed the storytelling and performances most of all.

A good film, I really liked the costumes and the story in general. I think the film would have been more realistic if the Countess had been less natural. I loved Laborde's character, whom I found so sweet. The ending broke my heart
