9/10. A lovely story with great acting with one of the best of a generation. I miss the feeling of “plays on screen” that you get with movies of this era.

It’s definitely a product of its time, and it took quite a while for me to get into the movie, but the ending and moral of the story is very touching. I’d say the last hour was the better half of the movie

Wonderful Life is very wholesome and a great character study on a typical working-class man. They could’ve expanded on the “gimmick” of the film, with more time devoted to George Bailey and his Angel, but overall it’s a wonderful Christmas film with a powerful message behind it.❄️

There’s a reason this movie has stuck around for so long. It’s sweet, funny, heartbreaking, and surprisingly dark for a Christmas classic. George Bailey spends his entire life putting everyone else before himself, and watching him finally understand just how much his life has mattered gets me every time.
It’s definitely an older movie and takes its time getting where it’s going, but the payoff is completely worth it. The final stretch still hits hard no matter how many times you’ve seen it. Heartwarming without feeling completely cheesy, and easily one of the best Christmas movies ever made.
