Io Capitano Reviews

For much of Io Capitano, one is gripped by the depiction of a deplorable trek that so many people find themselves forced into making. The filmmaking showcases this process in all its brutality but does so in an authentic and powerfully moving approach.

For not long will this film show you horrors, brutality awful truths. Credit is due for this piece but there’s a fear to let captain’s uncomfortable, disgusting pain, sit with the audience. There’s an unfortunate disconnect between what happens and what I saw. Also, the writing 😕

Forewarned is forearmed, but what endless misery… Naive dumbasses, pathetic!
Not to mention the cultural differences.
However, nothing we didn't already know and yet ongoing for decades, simply because money and interests are at play 😢
Human life proves to be worthless once again

A deeply moving watch

What an incredible journey. It gets pretty heavy, but it's also bookended with so much beautiful, pure joy. Stunningly shot, absolutely terrible tension and stress throughout. I won't call it an enjoyable time, but it was one I'm glad I got to experience

A beautiful movie that captures the desperation of migrants and the heartbreaking journey most of them have to take (and sometimes don’t survive). Depicting the bare bottom ugliness and inspiring kindness of humanity. Great acting!

I absolutely loved the cinematography, the images were hard to watch at times, but were very impactful. I really liked watching this, such a great movie.

a story of two sixteen year olds who want to see what is out there in the world… unfortunately sometimes it’s not all good and very bad things happen. this film was sometimes brutal to watch but also beautiful, telling the tale of true friendship. didn’t like how it ended.

Brutal. A story about desperation, resilience & courage, showing humans at its rawest. Some are kind, others are cruel. Some abuse, while others help. It was a really tough watch, the story is truly intense. The acting was magnificent.

Very though movie to watch. The acting is incredible.
I’m not in the place to judge wether it is realistic or not and if the ending is right; actually still wrapping my head around this movie’s production, but after all good.
