I think the story was fine but they definitely could have added a twist like the owner of the house was secretly a spy or he was trafficking drugs. I think theres more to be said about movies that peel back layers of characters that one would assume are not going to be developed

Immediately meh but upon further inspection, definitely a dislike. Sure the commentary of, “what it means to have art when you have nothing” is great and all but the abundance of flaws and unanswered questions completely overshadows.

A one-note, one-man show with Willem Dafoe (as usual) fully committing to his role. There’s an questioning of the purpose of art but this film certainly isn’t for everyone.

This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched. Nothing made sense, from how he even got trapped in the house to the ending, and how no one came to check on the house despite all the opportunities. Just no.

Maybe I’m not artsy enough to appreciate it.. Twas a bore fest..

6.9 - No one does insanity like Dafoe, but his stellar performance isn’t quite enough to make this great. Feels artsy for the sake of being so & would have benefited from being 20-30 minutes shorter. I enjoyed it more than I didn’t, but most may feel trapped a little too long.

This movie was soooo good. I enjoyed this movie 1000x more than I thought I would. Willem Dafoe acting was phenomenal. The slow mental breakdown and exhaustion throughout the movie. Slowly going into insanity no one to help you. Great ending 8/10

they shouldve made it more than just a survival story

survival movie with a refreshing appeal. it is not often i watch a movie that has me burning my pizza in the oven. willem dafoe did his thing here

there could definitely be more here to this story - perhaps a twist about the owner? i enjoyed it thoroughly nonetheless.

It was a good watch, but I would have prefered to get to know William Dafoe's character back story better. Also something more about the owner and his daughter? granddaughter? would have also been good
