Not as bad as the internet would have you believe. I liked this more than The Last Crusade.

I’m giving it a thumbs up because I’m an Indiana Jones fan but this is easily the weakest instalment in the franchise. Ford still gets away with it despite his age but Labouf seems too light and despite a great supporting cast the plot is muddled and the action feels cartoonish

-Why Aliens?
-Why Communism?
-Why a crystal skull?
-Why Huxley?
-Why the Traitor guy?
-Why bring Marion back?
-Why Aztec?
-Why a bunch of natives living in the walls?
-Why marriage?
-Why introduce Indie’s son when he already had Shorty? Bring Shorty back

How to quickly survive a nuke apocalypse:
Step 1: get inside your refrigerator and survive inside of it until it’s all over.

It might be because I grew up on this film but I still enjoy it to this day. Definitely weakest of the Indy films (until Dial of Destiny) but still enjoyable in my opinion, unlike the newest flick

Foos we’re literally on mars when they made this movie. This foo Indy survived a nuke like nothing happened while hiding in a refrigerator. 🤣😭💀

It’s ridiculous but it’s great. A really interesting dynamic having Indy now being the father figure. Aliens? A great inclusion. Fun action sequences that still feel reminiscent of the original trilogy.

It’s not terrible, but it is pretty boring. It barely felt like an Indiana Jones movie to me (even though Spielberg directed it), since its magic was gone. I get that these movies are meant to be far-fetched, but they really overdid it with this one. The Russian villains were way too clumsy. Aliens? Definitely didn't see that coming.

Maybe I'm biased, maybe, but I cannot love one movie of Indiana Jones without loving the rest- except from the first, which was amazing and the last, mostly because of Mads.

Checking how Indy’s 1950s sci-fi outing holds up today. Expected a disaster based on online hate, but the nostalgic adventure and classic Ford charm still bring solid fun.
What Worked:
• Replicating the classic lighting to keep that warm, old-school look honestly rules.
• Ford doesn’t hide his age and handles the physical stuff like a champ, grounding it for me.
• The college motorcycle chase has that fast-paced Spielberg energy that totally pops.
The Friction:
• The Amazon rainforest part really dragged for me during the heavy exposition.
• Digital jungle CGI honestly felt forced and pulled me out of the practical vibe.
• Shifting into heavy sci-fi near the end felt a bit jarring compared to the original trilogy.
Verdict:
Watch for nostalgic fun. Skip if heavy CGI annoys you.

For me, though it’s not the best, I like it very much and the approach from Spielberg into the legends about the existence of aliens in the past is so interesting.
