Yo this movie wrecked me. One of the most innocent and pure forms of love ever shown on screen, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the emotional damage by the end…. And they ask me why I hate yt ppl 😒 6/10

lovely. Agape by Nicholas britell brings back all the feels of this film

a story of discrimination, police brutality and how love survives both.

One of very few book adaptations where the film is like the book.

I noticed direct quotes from the novel in the film which made me even more intrigued to see this story all played out visually

It feels weird to watch a movie (you never saw before) and know the story.

Agape was my number one on Spotify 2 years ago and I think one of the best theme songs!
Finally I decided to buy the book and then watch the movie!

This was a fantastic adaptation of Baldwin’s book. The level of faithfulness to the source material was 💯

The essence of the book was captured beautifully, while adding it’s own unique charm

The story is soooo beautiful but sad…..

The performance is beyond incredible !!

I watched this film late at night and with my friends therefore I was a little unfocused ( yeah maybe I was sleepy cause this movie has a slow action). Still I found sth valuable and beautiful about the story. That's why I think I will need to rewatch it one day.

A moving story about living as an African American in America. The story is based in the 70s but could be about today. Beautifully told. I was moved.
