I expected a dry documentary but got a primal revenge thriller—basically The Revenant in the Stone Age. Intense and brutal.

The Director’s Eye:
Felix Randau threw the actors into the freezing Alps, and you can feel the frostbite. The cinematography is bleak but stunning. Jürgen Vogel is a beast; with zero intelligible dialogue, his physical acting tells the whole story. From a faith perspective, it’s a powerful illustration of "live by the sword, die by the sword." It captures the destructive cycle of vengeance and man's primal instinct to protect the holy.

The Cuts:
Warning: It is violent. One scene involving an eye is incredibly graphic and made me look away. The pacing drags a bit due to the lack of dialogue, and the significance of the "shrine" felt vague.

Verdict:
A gritty survivalist masterclass for fans of visual storytelling. A tough watch, but a fascinating look at the futility of revenge.
