If Sorry to Bother You was akin to a dose of magic mushrooms, this is research grade LSD; mushrooms to dragonfly is actually the perfect comparison. It moves quick yet it doesn’t ask if you’re catching up, it maybe glances over its shoulder to make sure you’re still following but ultimately you’re on your own. The big story here is the aggressive symbolism masquerading as a marketing campaign for the thematic messages it aims to deliver, and sure it does a great job of delivering those messages but the way it goes about it is… definitely something. This is weird, characters are strange, it’s bafflingly neurotic, yet it manages to get a good laugh whenever it desires. The music is fascinating, it’s a nostalgic sound heralding to old film scores that ran as if they were the main character, yet it never overshadows, never overstays its welcome, and always delivers an improvement on the Dr. Seuss ass chaos happening on screen. If anything, this should get a nod for hair and makeup, the colors used not only on set but in how the characters looked was great. Could I tell you what this is about? Sure. Could I explain how the film got there? Not a chance. It wasn’t bad but yeah go in expecting peak absurdism. 3.5/5

Bruh we have to accelerate the conflict bruh I’ve been saying this. See how the movie actually makes sense and works AND is funny when the creators are ACTUALLY anti-capitalists and not freakin boot lickers (one battle after another shade). But anyway the wigs and fashion was so good my eyes were salivating. The humor in this was so weird and exactly my taste. If the movie doesn’t switch into cgi and/or claymation randomly I don’t even want to watch it honestly. I NEED to watch sorry to bother you now. Like I didn’t even know Boots Riley was the realest biggest chiller ever.

boots riley man is rlly 2/2 on delivering these stylistically brilliant and fantastically bizarre social commentary films riddled with elite performances, star studded-cast, fantastic humor, and deep cultural value- this movie uses color brilliantly to display the mood of the scene and the set pieces and hyperbolic symbolism just works for me and helps me connect with the world - can’t wait to see wha this dude does next

Movie was weird as fuck but symbolic. The first half had me bored but intrigued at the same time because of how different this movie is. The editing, use of colors, and storylines are so very different than most movies in 2026. A little long but overall, you did a good KeKe🙂‍↕️

interesting movie. cool concept. very unique and stylish, as all Boots Riley art is. i love a communist king. hearing the words dialectical materialism in the theater was like a marxist dog whistle. the Candice Owen’s joke made me laugh so hard. unfortunately it drags a bit

I'm not sure I love boosters. Really liked how cartoony everything felt and how most of the movie runs on 'The cat in the hat' logic but sadly it feels overly long and disjointed at times
