Maybe I’m just a simpleton, but Bergman movies always tend to leave me NEEDING to google what I just watched. Left the whole theater saying the same thing, what? Why? I did enjoy this movie, I found the acting very well done, but it overcomplicated the plot after the ***. Rewatch

I have to revisit this because I made the mistake of having way too high expectations. Bergman horror film plus Liv Ullmann, who is now one of my favorite actresses. I do love films with great atmosphere and psychological thrillers set in a remote location. I guess I was expecting a lot more on the horror side, but no doubt a rewatch will greatly improve it for me.

Surreal, atmospheric, deeply disturbing and legitimately horrific, Hour of The Wolf perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being trapped in a nightmare. Truly chilling stuff. 8/10
