this movie is so gorgeously and poetically choreographed in such a way that the fight scenes become works of art - love the idea behind the movie and the execution is even cooler - this wuxia style of filmmaking is quickly becoming one of my favorites and i loved how this film paired its rich and vivid style with an emotionally rich story and deeply tragic romantic arc

Loved the storytelling structure and retelling. And also the use of color. Just didn’t carry the same weight as CTHD, or even Ip Man.

I think this movie does a phenomenal job artistically and how visual colors tie into the perspectives of each characters. As for the message, I wasn’t really a big fan of. I really wanted to love this movie like my aunt does but personally, It wasn’t for me. 7/10

One of the most beautiful East Asian martial arts dramas of the new millennium Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon may have gotten all the accolades, but Hero had the best story and visuals.

I’m not usually into the flying martial arts thing but this movie’s cinematography and use of color captures each scene’s emotion and completely immerses the viewer, allowing the choreography to add another layer of depth. Jet Li’s at his finest.
