This movie was trash fr. 2 hours with no scary scene and no disturbing shit like y’all saying. Just another paranormal movie. I was only satisfied when the little girl dies at beginning because she was too annoying. 1/10 for acting.

It takes a lot for me to be scared in a horror movie and this one definitely did it. It scared me so much I couldn’t go to sleep. Toni Collette is one of my favorite actors and she didn’t disappoint.

i had to cover my phone while the video at the top of the screen played i never wish the viewing of this movie on anyone i have never recovered from watching this movie and it’s been a year please don’t watch it i hate this movie

Didn’t like this one bit. The ending was so stupid and it was just a freaky watch overall. Don’t think I’ll be falling asleep tonight. Will give it props for the creepy camera movements but just a crappy story and stupid stupid stupid characters. Not for me

i really wished the director had built on the cult more - i felt a little cheated with the majority of the revelation revolving around them, unless i just didn’t get it. the story with its persisting twists complemented by the petrifying score tantalized me the entire runtime but was shockingly decapitated (ahah) by the lack of logically integrating ellen’s escapades. i feel like i was guessing a lot and didn’t get as much clarification as i wanted. was charlie forced to do everything? did she want some sort of revenge, or was she being controlled the whole time? (i’d for sure need some revenge & closure especially grandma grooming me like that). i just needed more but i very much enjoyed the cast/acting, the script, sets, lighting - it was all quite engaging and beautifully assembled. the cinematography. my god i couldn’t look away for a second. even the gory shit was gorgeous. i love you A24. 7/10

It’s hard to say I liked this film. It was very, very well done, the story was compelling, the acting was amazing, and it was creepy as hell. I knew it was going to be disturbing, and it was. The scene at the end (you know the one) was just too much for me.

Hereditary is a super dark and disturbing movie that sticks with you. It’s more psychological than jump-scare horror, and Toni Collette gives an insane performance. Creepy, uncomfortable, but really powerful. Best horror i ever seen.

9.7 - Gets better with every watch & is one of my personal scariest. It’s maybe the most precise movie of all time. Every single thing is intentional from background dialogue, to prop placement, to camera angles. Add in Oscar nom worthy performances & it’s an instant classic imo
