Hellboy: The Crooked Man
Felt like a fan made low budget art project. Incredible slow and boring, with no buildup. Would not even considered an actual movie. What a shame too, hellboy is iconic, but you can’t recreate or beat Ron Perlman.

Don't know how it went so wrong. I'm not much of a fan of Hellboy, but I watched the Perlman movies as a kid, so it's something I've grown to like partly for nostalgia. I'd still put the older movies, even the 2019 one, over this. It does well with what seems to be a small budget, but as a Hellboy story, it's all over the place. So much happens, yet nothing feels progressive. I liked the plotline about his mother, but the pacing is painstakingly slow and ultimately underwhelming. Decent cast, decent effects, but I'd probably never watch it again.

How did this and the previous Hellboy even get green lit when we never even got the third Ron Perlman Hellboy installment when the previous crew has made it clear they would return & just need a script

Would have benefited from a script more suited to its budget, and a focus on charming practical as opposed to goofy digital effects, but that’s just my take. Still a solid little movie, wouldn’t mind seeing this version come back with a bigger budget. Big Evil Dead vibes

I wanted to like this movie but from the get-go it was clear this was worse than your average B movie. Really, it was the disjointed stories. It was like it was just a collection of good ideas.

Stupid. Was the director pulled fresh from the streets? Amateur hour at its finest here.

Solid movie. Wasn’t a bad HellBoy. He felt kinda small, compared to Pearlman and Harbour. I knew this wouldn’t be amazing with the low budget. But was better then I thought.

Worst acting, cinematography, and production quality of the Hellboy movies but not entirely unredeemable

Well… that happened …. So much potential every time and yet again … the body was there but the soul (and budget) was missing …. It felt like Hellboy meets the vvitch from A24…. Just didn’t hit the mark though … one more strike and I’m done

Where do I begin?
This didn’t feel like a Hellboy movie, it felt like a test run for a TV series or a student film with a budget. The story feels rushed & oddly empty like we skipped the setup & jumped to the weirdness. It’s not awful, just confusing & undercooked.

This didn’t even feel like a hellboy movie to me. Felt more like a low budget horror movie that for some reason had hellboy in it. The story was okay but, when you compare it to the original hellboys it’s not very good. I did enjoy some of it and maybe if they took hellboy out of it I would like it more. Just don’t go expecting much.
