good film, not so good first film for a cis person who knows nothing about being trans gnc or whatever john cameron mitchell has decided now. speaking of him, yuck no thanks

Just got home from the 25th anniversary special screening with JCM.
It was such a special night seeing one of my all time favorite pieces of cinema with him there. 💖

My inch is hella angry so this resonated with me

too jokes

I liked the second half better than the first- the structure of going back and fourth between singing and narration was a little drab for me. I admittedly have a pretty hard time with musicals in the first place.. I didn’t think the soundtrack was that great. It is a fun film but just didn’t really grab my attention. I think the story had really good potential

So good, music was amazing and story was equal parts heart wrenching and silly

incredibly captivating

It’s not my cup of tea but it’s tells the story of Hedwig with also music. Kinda confusing in the beginning but a great movie for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but style-wise this is a very unique culture film. Holds a place in LGBTQIA+ cinema history undoubtedly.
