Despite its simplistic, even lackadaisical plot, ‘Happy Gilmore’ proves to be a highly accessible piece of entertainment. While I may regard genuine art as a “better” form of experience, there’s an undeniable beauty in a film that can be universally enjoyed.

Watching Happy tee off is so funny.
His wild swings and foul-mouthed drive are delightfully over-the-top, making this golf comedy still a joy to rewatch.

The comedy is never more than sudden, outsized explosions of violence from the otherwise placid, childlike Happy. But director Dugan maximizes the laughs through careful timing and counterpoint.

I love this damn movie

I don’t know why I’ve never seen this till now. Masterpiece. I love how in all Adam Sandler movies he’s not even acting. It’s just him. I lost my mind every time Carl Weathers was on the screen and the Bob Barker Fight. So funny! They don’t make them like this anymore.
