as my first agnes varda film, this did not disappoint in the slightest; i was not expecting such mature and beautiful craftsmanship. the visuals are gorgeous, the performances are amazing, and the narrative is equal parts endearing and harrowing. revelatory

varda’s cinematographic foci were impeccable. some of these shots were so gorgeous. loved the scene of françois running to see emilie during his break with the tracking dolly shot. interesting how insidious the end music is, suggests françois’ seeminglyvoid replacement of therese
