A beautiful novice film, relying heavily on imagery and sound to drive the themes rather than linear storytelling. It captures the historical southern structures that still weigh on the black community but also the hope and aspirations that drive them.

This is so beautifully shot and is such a great glimpse into the lives of the residents of Hale County. It’s moving, emotionally challenging, and provocative. I feel invested in the lives of those highlighted in the film. Really well done.
