This could be seen as an earlier version of La la land with a little glimpse of Whiplash. You can tell how this influenced both of them.
Damien has really come a long way from where he started.

Essentially a draft for La La Land. This has similar themes, ideas and scenes. Justin Hurwitz’s score is nice and definitely elevates this film.

33/100. I love Chazelle and I understand where he wanted to go with this film, but it just missed. The music was good, and the idea was even better, but the quality, camera work, cinematography, acting, and scenery were all just so bad that it took away from anything good.
