Matt and Ben absolutely shine!

The last 5 minutes saved the film. Great chemistry between Matt Damon and Robin Williams. The love interest was eh but I liked how they tied it together at the end. Great cameo from Rip from Yellowstone!

another take that’s likely to be controversial: the story and turn of events
are insufferably cliche/unrealistic/boring. the strange thing is i get why it’s considered a classic cuz ppl want to relate to the “misunderstood genius.” but it’s overrated either way.

This film is incredible it’s been a while where I’ve got actually stressed over characters and really desperately wanted a happy ending to a film everything about this movie from a writing and acting standpoint is perfection it’s an easy 9.9/10 MASTERPIECE

What a movie man, what a fucking movie. Like oh my days was that good. I love movies that lave you practically speechless by the end of it and not only does Good Will Hunting do that, but to be honest, I’m surprised I managed to string together a syllable.

1st Act 9.7/10 (Peak in practically every single sense, especially when Will and Sam first meet, like the little detail that they keep changing subjects to establish power is so well written, acted and directed.)

2nd Act 9.7/10 (Amazing, astonishingly complex and beautiful.)

3rd Act 10/10 (Masterclass of a final act, like I wouldn’t change a single fucking thing.)

Plot 9.5/10 (Robin Williams as a swearing therapist alone got this 8 points.)

Soundtrack/Score 10/10 (Sone of my favourite Elliot Smith songs in this, along with the fact they were used perfectly, Gus Van Sant knows ball.)

Acting 11/10 (Matt Damon and Robin Williams warranted this, everyone else was just an add on.)

Pacing 10/10 (Not too slow, not too fast, could lose maybe 2 minutes, but overall it’s practically perfect.)

Cinematography 9.8/10 (The lake shots had me admiring Boston’s scenery of all places.)

Character Development 10/10 (One Line, “I’m afraid? What am I afraid of? What the fuck am I afraid of?”)

Writing 10/10 (Holy shit I could quote this movie for days and have leftovers.)

Ending 11/10 (God I loved that ending. Practically made the whole movie 10X better, AND IT WAS ALREADY REALLY FUCKING GOOD.)

Direction 9.5/10 (Seamless and beautiful, wish we had more rain shots though.)

Great film about potential and choices. Matt overall will be fine in life but its his ambition that's holding him back from more lucrative opportunities. He chooses to stay in the shadows rather than step up to the plate with the bases loaded. Matt's future is looking bright😊

sometimes it’s not your fault

This movie was such an incredible ride! felt so connected to Will’s emotions—tears were definitely shed. The acting, chemistry, and story were top-notch. The character development was just chef’s kiss!🤩 Definitely in my all-time favorites✨ Loved every second of it! 10/10🥰

every time Robin Williams said "it's not your fault" I cried so bad. 😭
