This movie did something to me. Scarlet was pissing me off how she kept going back to Ashley 😒 she doesn’t deserve Rhett. Also Rhett was smoking everybody w/ his insults omg💀 Anyways, now I’m striving for a man like Rhett 😢 he rlly cared for Bonnie. It made me want to cry. 8/10

God that was exhausting. I know everyone says to look at it through the lens of when it was made, but even back then people cautioned the director about racist depictions of black people and despite saying the film would be considerate, it clearly wasn’t. What follows is nearly four hours of glorification of slavery and the old south under the guise of resilience.

Was it beautifully shot? Yes. Was Hattie McDaniels fantastic? Yes. But these can’t overcome the ridiculous story they’re meant to prop up.
