Godzilla
Both the best and worst godzilla movie. The best because of the sfx/vfx/cgi, horror/darkness, casting, and just every scene with monsters. The worst because around one and a half hours of this wasn't needed at all. It was filler for characters who don't last or have any meaning what so ever. I rather they take a few years building a proper Godzilla movie rather than this wasted 'Wanda, Quicksilver and Walter White with a bit of Godzilla' nonsense. They didn't even have to pay Godzilla for this because she was volunteering as a background character.

2014’s ‘Godzilla’ is a thrilling and visually pleasing film that brought Godzilla back to relevance in the states and spawned two other sequels. A more serious take on the iconic titan with a solid cast that’s leagues better than the 1998 movie.

They fixed everything that was so wrong with the first American Godzilla movie. I loved every second, the lighting could have been better in some scenes but I still think it was awesome.

Wow, this was better than expected I got the 4K a while back before I had my player it had the blu ray too but I never got round to watching it until today.
Godzilla didn’t do much tho 🤣😳🙄.
The soundtrack is good and suspenseful.
Overall I’d give it like a 6.8/10 closer to a 7

Found it quite boring. Good start. Brian Cranston should stay in it a lot longer he is great.

Godzilla
The earlier parts of the film where Cranston was more prominent was far more interesting. This was because of the emotional depth his character and storyline brought to the film. I found the mindless destruction in the third act way less enjoyable than the 1st

Honestly so good. For some reason I believed these were not good movies and, as someone who holds the 1998 version dear to my heart, I was so pleasantly surprised.
This had such a wonderful mix of heart and action. I really cared about the characters and their motivations. The acting was great (specifically Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston).
It’s visually stunning both in effects and cinematography. And the score is very impactful.
But the thing that stood out the most for me was the sound design. It was so crisp, guttural and unique. Everything felt so tangible and real, like I could feel it in the room. The artistry in sound really blew me away.
The plot was good. Big monsters fighting. Loved it. Can’t wait to watch the rest.
