Absolutely stunning in every way. It's impossible to ignore the influence it had on science fiction in the nearly 20 years after it's release.

Had this on in the background so was only half paying attention but I liked it. Cool concept & nice animation. Lots of unnecessary nudity (naked female robots) but not sexual. The message about AI technology because more and more relevant everyday. Need to rewatch in the future.

Could do without the constant sexualisation of the female looking robot, but hey we can’t all have nice things.

classic cyberpunk anime film, definitely a must-watch for any fans of the medium. terrific animation and music with excellent action and voice-work, always moving at a breakneck pace and with a bold ending. i swear the nudity is necessary for the plot

The animation is “perfect” but the director could’ve left the story on the paper. All the movie is just talk-no-jutsu. It could be better if they focused on the story instead of showing every girl’s puh and tits. You don’t need to be that perverted lil bro. My hb slept 7 times 😭

my second intro to anime and this one is a classic.

it being made it 96 is spectacular to me.

amazing action sequences, similar flow to edge runners although grainy witch made it feel old.

gonna watch 2.0 soon and find the improvement but overall a good like.

Not the most interesting of movies as I was so excited to watch it and just ended up having it on in the background because the characters weren’t endearing along with the pacing being incredibly slow. Overall 6/10 Worth the watch for the significance in Sci-Fi and only that.

pretty animation, the story isn’t fully fledged out tho cause it’s like an 80 min runtime. prob would’ve been cooler as a series

8/20/26 I loved this movie more than I expected . So many beautiful shots and the angst was fantastic

Loved the entire style and aesthetic of the movie, and the animations are truly unique. The plot is a very complicated one, a bit overwhelming sometimes (also the pacing doesn’t help much). It’s incredible the mark that this movie left in the entire sci-fi panorama. 9/10

extremely thought provoking and beautiful visuals

I didn’t fully grasp this one, the dialogue is super layered and complex in thrusting you into this world and the philosophical discussions of life in a world losing its humanity. Might enjoy it more on a rewatch, but the direction is gorgeous

Love the art style, characters and music but I didn’t understand everything in the movie maybe I just need to get more info about it and rewatch it but besides that I really enjoyed it.

Interesting, not overly exciting

I honestly hate how long it took me to watch this movie, it’s so beautiful in every way. It’s a must watch and be warned it’s incredibly graphic.

Really enjoyed this. First time watching it and im so happy i finally did. The animation was incredible, I instantly fell in love with the charm and the characters. 8.5/10
