Ghost in the Shell Reviews

Absolutely stunning in every way. It's impossible to ignore the influence it had on science fiction in the nearly 20 years after it's release.

Had this on in the background so was only half paying attention but I liked it. Cool concept & nice animation. Lots of unnecessary nudity (naked female robots) but not sexual. The message about AI technology because more and more relevant everyday. Need to rewatch in the future.

Could do without the constant sexualisation of the female looking robot, but hey we can’t all have nice things.

classic cyberpunk anime film, definitely a must-watch for any fans of the medium. terrific animation and music with excellent action and voice-work, always moving at a breakneck pace and with a bold ending. i swear the nudity is necessary for the plot

The animation is “perfect” but the director could’ve left the story on the paper. All the movie is just talk-no-jutsu. It could be better if they focused on the story instead of showing every girl’s puh and tits. You don’t need to be that perverted lil bro. My hb slept 7 times 😭

my second intro to anime and this one is a classic.

it being made it 96 is spectacular to me.

amazing action sequences, similar flow to edge runners although grainy witch made it feel old.

gonna watch 2.0 soon and find the improvement but overall a good like.

shoutout to the lady who recommended it to me at comic con.

8 / 10

Not the most interesting of movies as I was so excited to watch it and just ended up having it on in the background because the characters weren’t endearing along with the pacing being incredibly slow. Overall 6/10 Worth the watch for the significance in Sci-Fi and only that.

pretty animation, the story isn’t fully fledged out tho cause it’s like an 80 min runtime. prob would’ve been cooler as a series

8.5/10

Felt like death while watching

Holy shit… this was so good.. I need to watch more anime

I think I need a rewatch. The concept is really cool, and I like the creepy vibe it has, but I lost track of a few things

Rewatched this on 4K in my work theater. Happy 30th anniversary (even though it really isn’t)!

coolest final 15 minutes ever made

10/10
this movie has never been more relevant than in the age where ai chat bots are literally gaining sentience and communicating with each other on old unmoderated internet forums

A little confusing to watch, didn't really understand the plot, but I liked it nonetheless!

I think I was just really tired but this shit flew by, I didn’t really think it felt like a full completed movie. Regardless, the animation was stunning with so much care put into every single detail and frame. It has a great style, solid voice acting and my god they don’t go 10 mins without seeing some tits, it’s insane how much they show you the cyborgs boobs in great detail (just look at the poster). It’s a super solid film that does great for its time

My score: 7.5/10

Need to watch it again I think

watched this in a film class 5 years ago (cuz the history of it) and its amazing! and the soundtrack too!

8/20/26 I loved this movie more than I expected . So many beautiful shots and the angst was fantastic
