From Me to You

When watching this I didn’t realize this was based on an anime/manga of the same name.

The story revolves around a girl who is a sort of shy outcast in school who everyone is afraid of because she looks like the horror movie character from the ring.

With the help of a guy and two girls she slowly becomes more of a person then she was before. There are some really well done arcs in the movie and some that fell very short.

For instance the popular guy who tries to get people to give her a chance succeeds in the process by having two girls become besties to her, once rumours spread she try’s to dissociate from them, but her friends don’t give up on her and she realizes she was wrong to do it, and they’re friendship is strong then ever.

The story falls short however by making it a romance film. The whole arc with the girls the guy is nowhere to be seen for the most part, it’s like he doesn’t exist until the very end to help her come to terms with being their friends and not caring about the rumours. And the story just in my honest opinion gets worse from there.

The guy gets jealous of her talking to another guy and pulls her away for no reason, the girl is very confused about what love is and he doesn’t even try to explain when he does it, he confesses to her randomly one day and she doesn’t know how to react because of who and how she is.

The movie ends with them basically being together and confessing to each other but I felt the romance part was the worst part of the film, poorly done, and the guy character didn’t deserve her.
