OH MY GOD FRANKENSTEIN WAS THE DOCTOR ALL ALONG

Completely different from the book. Yes, it is a classic movie, but that doesn't make it good. It completely changes the names and personalities of all the characters and makes them one dimensional. It misses the point Mary Shelley was trying to make in her book.

i know it’s a classic but but me i was a little hard to watch idk maybe bc it’s an old movie but it’s like something it’s missing in there

i get and respect that it’s a classic, and i really appreciate that it didn’t scare me like most horror movies do, but it just…wasn’t my thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ not bad for 1931 tho🫡

incredibly charming and sad, i felt so bad for The Monster, i love him so dearly and he deserved so much better

Still just as thought-provoking now as it was back in 1931, Frankenstein is an undisputed classic film worth watching for any self proclaimed film buff or horror fan. 8.5/10

Heck of shot at the end. Pulled it up from dislike to meh.

Visuals were better than the story.
Loved the wedding dress omg Elizabeth was gorgeous but the story was so off from the book

I finally got around to watching this Universal Studios classic (I still haven’t seen Guillermo del Toro’s version). The gothic atmosphere created by the sets is absolutely fantastic. Defying death comes with serious consequences.

The storytelling is solid, although there are a few questionable moments, like leaving the doctor alone with the Monster, leaving the little girl by herself, and locking his fiancée in her room while the Monster climbs in through the window. 💀

The Monster’s makeup is incredible—it’s exactly how we all remember him. And please, stop calling the Monster “Frankenstein.” 😑 Frankenstein is the doctor.

I was a little more invested in the invisible man and Dracula but overall still a good movie. I really liked the design of Frankenstein and the scene where he through the girl into the water is hilarious. Fritz death was satisfying if it wants for him frank would be good. 6.5/10

I can appreciate it for what it is, especially for its time, but it just didn’t really keep my interest. It was okay, just not something I connected with.

All-time classic.

First film to give me nightmares! Begged my mother to let me stay up and watch it (70s) Wish I didn’t 😱

questions morality

a horror classic- i imagine how scary this must have been nearly 100 years ago
i bet he wouldn’t have been such a monster if they weren’t so mean to him; playing a cruel God could never end well…

It’s too different from the book for me, but I loved the special effects. A classic. 5/10.

It's fine except the entire story is different from the book and the portrayal isn't very good. Complete departure.
