Basically the grown up version of Lady Bird with a black and white filter. Each character has a few unlikeable traits and nothing grand ever happens but that’s exactly how life feels like if you’re a little lost. 7/10

This movie captures the lightning of life in a bottle. The music is used perfectly. It establishes tropes so effortlessly; it’s an inviting watch. The pace is like memory: it spends appropriate amounts of time and attention according to each subject. Just lovely.

Rlly good!! I really liked Benji and levs characters they were weird but also like nice I guess, really not great ppl tho. Also Sophie and Frances are cool. Loved the ending where Frances is in her own house and you can tell how much she has matured and grown

Uhm slow unbearable start. Does show the truths to friendship, and growing up mentally/independence. I love Benji he was so silly

There’s nothing like being alone at home and discovering a new favorite piece of art that you can’t believe took you so long to find. It’s just such a delicious feeling. Greta Gerwig is magic!

10/10 this film was just so new york. i love how real this film is and it really does represent a mid 20s in New York. this film really gave me comfort and joy in a way and i loved the black and while filter. must watch :)

I really needed to watch this movie

I watched this too far into my 30's to be anything but annoyed.

A film that so unique you can’t help but appreciate its existence. It’s everything that an independent film should be, a look inside an original character. Feels real, and has such an accurate portrayal of a woman just trying to make it. It’s fresh, bittersweet, & funny.

It was hard to watch at times with how awkward it was. A few really relatable moments. Reminds me of the movie girlfriends. She was all over the place gave me anxiety, Everything does work out though, the end tied it all together. 6/10

god this captures being lost in your late 20’s so well - funny, a lil sad and endlessly well done

Mixed feelings on this one. It often feels a bit meandering, but I think the good stuff ultimately outweighs the bad.

On one hand Frances’s uncertainty about her path is incredibly relatable. She has talent and drive, yet I found her hard to approach as a character because of her strange, almost emotionless demeanour.

I really liked the look into friendship - specifically how people ‘progress’ through life at different speeds and the strains that creates. Greta Gerwig plays that element very well, she keeps Frances chirpy and optimistic regardless of what’s going wrong, even if does get a bit grating at times.

It’s not my favourite of Baumbach’s, but I always appreciate his methodical and quirky writing. Plus, the film is gorgeous - the black & white really works. Glad to have finally watched.
