Devastating movie, Tyler Perry wasn’t the chief thankfully. The MCs deal with crushing things but find community and love because of it. Only thing is the poetry aspect is a bit half baked, the film is mostly realistic then breaks into poetry, shouldve been a little more artsy

Every girl should watch this

Sweet

This all black woman cast was amazing! The acting just drew you into the story instantly. This is one of the greatest Tyler Perry films ever! Overall: 9/10

This movie left me speechless, amazing

tough watch, awkward beginning, frankly some of the dialogue is trite & archetypal but it was great. reading afterwards this was written in 1974 puts everything into a better context, which requires a rewatch. there’s a lot of beauty, depth & pain that needed/s to be confronted

Traumatizing

Nothing could make me hate this movie. An all time classic. I think people don’t like it because of the uncomfortablility and realism of the film. I guess they liken it to their life’s. But not all films can be fantasy some have to be reality.

I was like 9 or 10 years old when this movie came out and let me say I watched this that one time and I ain't watched it till now I am a grown and still it's not a movie I don't rewatch often I watched it like 3 times now as an adult
