Final Destination Bloodlines

The intro is probably the best part of the entire movie, the build up was done flawlessly and it was the same feelings i’d get watching the other movies in the series, I think the movie would have flat out just been better if they focused on the characters established in the intro instead of the route they went and I enjoyed the mini build up ending we got as well

“Its all just math equations” 🥴 shut the hell up, the modern day dialogue made me wish I was born deaf

I know it sounds like I hated this movie but i’m telling you the death sequences were just so fun it makes up for the fact the main characters we are forced to deal with after the intro suck ass

In a better universe we got a 1960’s prequel final destination movie that absolutely fucks but I can be content with this instead

8.2 - Are people going to get mad if I say this was the best of the franchise?

Obviously, it needs the rest to fully hold up but it felt like a pure love letter to early 2000s horror & the Final Destination franchise as a whole. It felt honorary while also feeling fresh, creative, & new instead of derivative.

It not only tied together & confirmed all the established (though occasionally contradictory) rules from the previous movies, but also utilized them effectively for key moments. It’s loaded with great misdirection & suspense. It paid tribute to the paranormal elements established in the first entry but also didn’t shy away from the pure splatter & comedy the later versions leaned into. The acting was solid, & we got a beautiful & sadly pertinent monologue from Tony Todd.

It’s overall well balanced between the cheesy, goofy, & gory, & the suspenseful & supernatural elements, while also being incredibly accessible if you’ve never seen another one of the franchise. And it’s just a good time.
