Definitely Kubrick’s worst film. This movie came out in 1953, and even knowing that it feels dated. All of the dialogue was dubbed over, the script is horrible, and the color grading is horrendous. Kubrick himself wanted to keep this film hidden from the public and I can see why.

Hannah Montana once said everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days. this was that day for Stanley Kubrick. and that’s okay.

the First Kubrick movie. it's not a great film but it puts the base for all the filmography of one of the best directors ever lived

kubrick’s first film; aside from some really strange visual issues and generally poor acting, a genuinely entertaining film with a strong and short narrative. plenty of hints towards a future style and future masterworks; worth watching

This movie sucks. The plot is boring, the pacing is bad, the visuals are boring, and this is made by STANLEY KUBRICK!!! I love most of his work but this is just bad.

Kubrick certainly had something to say. But I don’t think this film says it very well.

Its a good film brilliant for its time it had its moments but what it lacked was character development like I didn’t know characters names or did I care about them but it’s not disown this movie is horrible bad like the way Stanley treated it overall even for his first still good

Stanley Kubrick’s first feature film and it’s also his worst. It may as well just stayed lost.
