just a shitty movie. the sad part is that the concept and the supporting characters performances weren’t what made it so terrible, it’s the fact that sam is such a fucking weirdo. i don’t know if it was intentional to write and perform him as such an awkward unlikable person or if it was just shear being a terrible actor and needing his directional debut to be starred by himself. in either case, any good will or warmth that this story tries to get you to feel about the characters and the taboo entanglement going on is ruined by the fact that he is so off putting and cringe. it felt like watching a little kid hit on their babysitter, and that being in a pervy borderline assault kind of way. i don’t think i’ve ever sided with the antagonist naysayers in a romantic comedy before, but yeah david was right who the fuck is this creep and why is he here

Solid story. Solid acting. Solid directing. Solid comedy. Not lengthy for what it is. Interesting characters with interesting dynamics. Love this awkward guy. Finally a refreshing/relatable way to show anxiety.

Saw this at the Pendance Film Festival in Feb 2026– wholesome flick. Nice feel-good film.

I saw this as a mystery movie, while certainly not a bad movie its also just somewhat of a nothing movie. Had some entertaining moments but I was expecting a little more from the movie/plot, it felt like it never really picked up and then it just sort of ends
