Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Reviews

I don’t care what anyone says. I like the fantastic 4 movies.

it was nice im curious about the new doomsday movie

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a marginal improvement over its predecessor, but still a deeply flawed and forgettable superhero film, earning a 5.6/10 rating. The introduction of the Silver Surfer is a highlight, but the film is ultimately torpedoed by a simplistic script and lack of character development.

Highlights:

- Silver Surfer Shines: The combination of Doug Jones's physical performance and Laurence Fishburne's voice work creates a cool, tragic, and visually compelling character.
- Impressive Visual Effects: The visual effects used to bring the Silver Surfer to life are impressive and have aged reasonably well.

Criticisms:

- Simplistic Script: The screenplay is incredibly simplistic and low-stakes, even for a family-friendly blockbuster.
- Galactus Disappointment: The portrayal of Galactus as a giant, formless space cloud is a massive disappointment and a complete disservice to the source material.
- Lack of Character Development: The four main heroes receive virtually no character development, and Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom is once again a weak and non-threatening villain.
- Flat Direction: Tim Story's direction remains flat and generic, failing to create a sense of epic, world-ending threat.

Verdict: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a cheesy, harmless, and ultimately mediocre sequel that fails to make a lasting impression. Despite introducing a great version of the Silver Surfer, the film wastes him on a weak story and abysmal villain.

Didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first, what a surprise Victor betrays them. Nevertheless still enjoyed shame this set of the fantastic four didn’t get another movie.
