Falling for Vermont

This Hallmark film stands out because of its attention to the small details—the awkward “almost kiss” scene in the morning and the subtle hand touch on the Ferris wheel add authenticity to the romance. The farewell scene is especially effective, with Emily’s character showing a surprising amount of strength, and Angela’s advice to “take care of Dad” is a nice touch.

The cast is strong overall, and the writing elevates what could have been a familiar story. I particularly appreciated that Angela and Jeff had genuine time together before the big reveal. The fact that they both hesitated to confess and instead decided to enjoy the moment gives the script a more thoughtful edge.

For fans of Hallmark’s signature style, like me, this movie includes all the expected elements—fall settings, bookish themes, romance, and a satisfying happy ending. The kids are believable, and Julie Gonzalo remains a reliable lead for the network. Overall, it’s a solid entry in the Hallmark lineup, delivering exactly what viewers are looking for.
