80% of this film would not happen in real life racing. the only selling point was big-name actors and real F1 drivers. there was no essence to this film with super bland characters, no actual plot, and injustice to the sport.
This is what Hollywood THINKS F1 is, not WHAT it is.

to start off, can we talk about the cinematography bro… so crispy and buttery it so fucking beautiful. claudio miranda was a good call since he’s kosinski’s right hand man. just like nolan & hoyte :’)
camera work is phenomenal, the quick pans, the color palette, the editing, the sfx & vfx, the production, the set designs, & the storytelling is incredible.
having to build a team from scratch, shoot in a tiny window between practices & qualifying is fucking incredible to me. no wonder the budget was $300m.
the score bro, having hans as the composer was a huge win.
the cast is astonishing, brad, damson, javier, & kerry wow wow wow. love them so much, their performance was oscar worthy imo.
literally top gun but with F1 cars. kosinski is one of my favorite directors since tron legacy of course.
apple & warner bros really made the right call, i can’t say anything bad about this gorgeous film.
go see it on the biggest screen & best sounds system. thank me later ;)

9/10 Yet an other great film from director Joseph Kosinski. F1 (The Movie) must be experienced on the big screen to really appreciate the racing. The casting and story were spot on. Well anticipated and not let down. “Slower is Faster” like it 😜. Recommend.

8.3 - What a ride.
This movie is pure summer blockbuster fun. The perfect way to kill 3 hours in the AC with a huge soda & popcorn.
Brad Pitt is working purely on charisma & aura. Kerry Condon is expertly running her role from Banshees of Inisherin back. Hans Zimmer is blasting techno beats. Jospeh Kosinski is giving us fast cars & every sports movie trope there is. It’s also a contender for the most product placement ever in a movie.
I expended zero brain cells & loved every minute.

i understand why some drivers are unhappy with the scenes about formula 1 as a sport, but if you look at the movie as a separate entity, it's actually really interesting and excellent.I like the story and the way they built the relationship between the drivers. 10/10

Had high hopes but was very disappointed. 3-4 safety cars in one race? Unrealistic. On screen we see a 2023 Mercedes but a 2024 Ferrari? Toto told JP he can race for him after securing a single win? All season? It's clear they tried to appeal to anybody, not real fans.

As far as racing films go, "Ford v Ferrari" is still miles ahead in the race. With Joseph Kosinski at the helm, I expected so much better than this. Just like "Top Gun: Maverick", it's a technical marvel, although unlike "TGM", it fails to bring any inspiration to the game. The vehicles have barely any impact behind them, almost as if I was envisioning the camera work before the cars. Neither do any of the characters. I mean, it just feels like a 2 hr, 30 min advert with throwaway dialogue and cheap plotlines. All that being said, the pacing, cast, and score kept me engaged. As for enjoyment, I'd look elsewhere.

love F1, but this has nothing to do with it. most stuff that happened here wouldn’t irl :) even when i separate it from the actual sport and just take it as a random movie, its so unwatchable. the way it was filmed? horrible. white text on a white background, horrible colors ughh

Are the car scenes cool, yes. Is the acting fine, yes. The story and writing are just so terrible. Of course the woman head mechanic has to bang the F1 driver! Really showing the respect she wanted to make it to the top.

Cast was absolutely amazing cant say enough about them. Visuals and sound obviously knew were going to deliver. Very entertaining, but mirrors top gun a little too much to give it that love rating. Kosinski owns summers tho

A lot of it is good, the only real problem is the writing, it’s very cliche and has an abundance of catch phrases that make you cringe a little, but it’s fine, it’s made to be like this.
Also, non of this would probably happen in the real F1, it’s a very fantastical take on it, at times nonsensical, but that’s the fun of blockbusters, you just tune off and watch a movie.
