i was so excited when i first saw the trailer for thus film and don’t get me wrong, i really enjoyed it and i love Amandla, she’s a phenomenal actress. But this movie just lacked something for me? It was such a beautiful concept but it was so underwhelming in the end

I haven’t read the book yet but I feel like the book will be better because of its slower pace and descriptiveness. I liked aspects of it , such as certain visuals and the soundtrack, but overall the movie felt kinda rushed and lacking details. 6/10

A calm, sweet film built on the sick-kid trope: an isolated girl, tired of life, falls in love and risks everything. After a health crisis, she confronts her overprotective mother and chooses to live fully with the boy she loves. Overall: 8/10
