The art style is so cute!! So wholesome that their son wrote their love story and life with him growing up. Kinda wierd how they view homosexuality and religious based warfare but I guess that’s what you get for an old British story🤣

“I grew it from a pip.”

I’m speechless, my words will no doubt justice to how much of an actual masterpiece Ethel & Ernest truly is. It’s beautiful, it feels like I’m watching life unfold before my very eyes.

1st Act 10/10 (We got a whole 25 minutes of happiness, and then the war happened.)

2nd Act 10/10 (I can’t do this movie justice for how human it is and how much I truly adore this masterpiece.)

3rd Act 11/10 (Fuck you Raymond, Fuck You. Felt like I was watching Up but the first 10 minutes WITH JUST MORE REASONS TO CRY.)

Plot 10/10 (If it was any better, it would have Shawshank run for its money.)

Soundtrack/Score 9.5/10 (I can’t with these sad ass fucking songs, like I’m on the verge of tears and you’re playing “She’s gone”??? Like cmon now.)

Voice Acting 10/10 (It felt so close to home that if it was any closer I’d cry like I lost an actual family member.)

Pacing 9.5/10 (Near perfect, just wished it was slightly longer, like a scene or 2 that happened before they got together.)

Cinematography 10/10 (I looked at some scenes and just though “Man, life is beautiful.”)

Character Development 11/10 (I was on the verge of tears, like if I was in a slightly different mental state I would have balled my fucking eyes out.)

Writing 9.4/10 (Not really much writing, but the dialogue was so fucking good.)

Ending 9.8/10 (5 More minutes, that’s all I needed, just 5 more minutes.)

Direction 9.5/10 (Bravo Roger, Bravo.)

Great animation, and to see the events from the past and technology evolving.
