Such a gorgeous movie. Horrific stuff and lots of animals. The music fucking terrifying for no reason but I enjoyed the donkey❤️

Honestly, I have very little to say about this movie. It was both exactly what I expected and far darker than I expected. In some ways, it’s a fun tale of a donkey seeing the world. But, it’s also just so fucking cynical. The director seemingly just has a very cold view of the world, and it was pretty unpleasant to watch at a lot of points. Beautiful to look at, though!

A visually stunning, anxiety-inducing odyssey with phenomenal sound design and a haunting score. Constantly surprised me, though its white liberal prioritization of animal suffering over migrant dignity left a sour taste. Sentimental manipulation of the first degree that works.
