Empire of Light
I sometimes felt like the film was struggling to figure out what it wanted to be: a narrative on race relations, friendship, love, cinema, mental illness, misogyny, history…not sure it ever figured itself out. The lesson? Just because others say you’re broken doesn’t mean you are

This made me miss the old movie theater I used to go to all the time before they closed it down a couple of years ago.

Ta bien, al final es más emotiva que lo que inicialmente parece la trama "polla negra cura trastorno mental." la prota hace genial cualquier papel que le den, me encanta como actriz

I thought I couldn’t love this film more until I rewatched it today. Top tier acting, cinematography, editing, and music. Toby Jones’ scenes makes me cry both of the times.

Interesting story about a woman with schizophrenia and a young black man in the middle of racial strife in 1980s UK.

liked the movie a lot. but i felt like sometimes it wasn't really sure what it was about - either race, love, mental health.... it's been too many topics mixed but only kinda halfhearted.

Beautifully shot, as you would expect from Roger Deakins, and Sam Mendes is a master storyteller and filmmaker. The story is powerful and at times uncomfortable to watch, set in an English coastal town during the turbulent 1980s, primarily at an aging movie house.

Olivia Colman puts her whole in a performance which did not disappoint. However, I did find the theme of the film very clear. Feminism? Mental strain and society’s lack of empathy? Racism? Maybe they all come together, but is a bit of a not fluid way
