As someone who just exited childhood, this movie was too real. So much so that it made me feel a visceral level of cringe. It made those heart warming or sad scenes, hit even harder too. Most “coming of age” movies are out of touch, but this one actually felt like being 13

This movie was uncomfortable, honest, and the thing I loved most about it was the universality it had. It gave a glimpse inside the digital generation and it was such a rare movie that I think speaks to any age. Bo Burnham did an amazing job writing this story.

An intense coming of age that effectively captures the highs and lows of early high school.

Done very well, hard watch, and exactly what my inner child needed to hear.
Also the assault scene, although wildly uncomfortable, was really appreciated because it had me reevaluating past situations and better understanding the layers and gravity of the moment
