loved harry styles in it but it was boring

Snoozefest

How do Nolan and his team create original and practical films, constantly, with so much raw emotion and uncomprehendable sense? Time and time again, I try to understand the meaning and genius behind not only the story but the process too, and time and time again, I'm left dumbfounded. The amount of pure talent we get to witness is unforgettable. Even if you're not a fan of his work, which I find crazy, the complexity is honestly admiring. It's always a blend of belly-aching cruelty and heart-aching humanity. Without a doubt, the greatest modern-day war film I've ever experienced.

A very powerful and unique film. Not a whole lot of dialogue because Nolan wanted the cinematography and soundtrack to create suspense and help tell the story. Both aspects were incredible and his use of practical effects never ceases to amaze me

Watched it 3 times now and it got better every time. The third time it felt like everything came together and I caught things that I had missed before.

One of Christopher Nolan’s most overlooked films.

I had the pleasure of watching this film in the cinema on 35mm & it was amazing. It was my first time seeing this film in the cinema. It was also my first time seeing a film on 35mm, or on any kind of film print for that matter.

Looking back this movie is a snooze fest it jumps around to much it’s hard to follow and is overall unenjoyable and sleep

I mean, I love Chris.Nolan with all my heart but that one is just alright. The visuals are good but the rest is just meh. Storytelling is just not good at all and from historical point of view its just not that of an important event in the war. Its just 400k men trying to survive

By no means would I call this a bad movie, since on most regards it is well made, but I don’t find it a very engaging movie either. The characters just don’t have neither enough depth to them for me to personally connect with them. It feels like just another standard war movie.

Probably one of nolan’s most straightforward stories, sacrificing complexity for tight storytelling and grounded writing.
Excellent sound design, they brought the different storylines together in a way that felt very natural, and while war movies are not my favorite genre, the focus on humanity shining through the murkiness of war kept me engaged enough

There was some great cinematic shots and all the scenes were beautiful to watch but there lacked a good storyline so overall it felt like an average watch. 5.5/10
