Burton’s usual dark tone is subdued but the creativity and imagination remain, finding messages in various segments of the story everyone can relate to.

I liked the nods to the original such as the train, but I can’t see why they remade dumbo rather than writing a new and better story. I know that growing up with the original animation has probably made me bias but this just felt unnecessary and not as good.
