Goku seems more dim-witted and Vegeta loses a lot of both his charisma and dignity, but damn, it feels so good to be back with our beloved characters and universe! And what about Beerus and his companion Whis? What perfect additions! A fantastic new atmosphere that I really love!

I expected a nostalgia cash-grab, but got a fun, character-driven story that brings back DBZ’s heart. It feels like Toriyama showed up and said “let’s make this feel like the old days, but bigger.”

What Worked:
• Toriyama’s touch – The humor, stakes, and slice-of-life mixed with god-tier fights gave me that warm, chaotic DB vibe I missed.
• Beerus & Whis – Beerus stole the show. Sleek, unpredictable, oddly charming. His banter with Whis had me laughing.
• Music – Sumitomo’s score + Flow’s “Cha-La Head-Cha-La” cover hit instant nostalgia. Epic when it needs to be, light during Bulma’s party.

What Didn't:
• The party segment really dragged for me. Side characters messing around while a god waits tested my patience.
• New digital animation is cleaner, but some faces felt too glossy and crowd shots rushed.
• Power-scaling gets vague. The “god” stuff isn’t clear, so I just rolled with it.

Verdict:
Watch if you miss DBZ’s humor and heart. As a Methodist, I liked the themes of humility, protecting others, and repentance. The “power isn’t everything” message landed. Skip if you want nonstop fights, this one breathes. Great re-entry point.

Favorite Line: “I won’t let you destroy my world!”

First 20 or so episodes of super pretty much sums this up besides the fact it’s on a Cruise instead. SSGoku God is cool and Vegeta crash out over Bulma also cool. Beerus is a mid villain tho 6.9/10

Pos una cosa muy dragon ball, con peleas de dragon ball donde una vez mas aparece un alien to poderoso llamado Bills que humilla al goku y al vegeta. El goku se pone tinte en el pelo peeero el vegeta defiende a la bulma y la llama su bulma y eso es bonito.
