I was nervous about full CGI, but I got a funny, heartfelt story feeling like classic DB with new paint. I grinned a lot.

What Worked:
• Toriyama putting Piccolo and Gohan’s teacher-student bond front and center really worked. I bought every emotional beat.
• The Gammas and Dr. Hedo stole scenes for me. Their charm and superhero obsession made them super fun, not just stock villains.
• The 3D felt snappy. The choreography kept that heavy impact, and the beam clashes still shook the screen for me.

What Didn’t Click:
• Goku/Vegeta training bits pulled me out and slowed the plot down. I just wanted to stay with Piccolo’s plan.
• The last threat goes from 0 to 100 fast. I needed a little more breathing room before the absolute chaos.
• Quiet dialogue scenes looked stiff to me. I really missed Broly’s hand-drawn expressions.

The Verdict:
Watch if you love Gohan, Piccolo, and real character growth. Skip if you need Goku leading or hate CGI.

Piccolo finally gets the spotlight, and it’s long overdue. The character-driven approach works well, grounding the action in relationships rather than pure power scaling. The Gammas became instant fan faves, I hope we see them again.
