9.8/10 My favorite animted movie of all time. One of my favorite movies in general. Definitely launched me into watching a ton of Dragon Ball after growing up just a casual fan.

The art was amazing and beautiful. Loved the art style a lot more than supers animation. Would love if they kept this style for the next season of Dragon Ball 10/10

I expected another big Broly fight, but got an emotional, beautifully animated Saiyan history lesson.

What Worked:
Shintani’s expressive art style makes every punch feel heavier and the spectacle pop. Toriyama reworking Broly’s origin gives the brawl tragic weight; I really felt for him. Plus, the thunderous score and the track “Blizzard” add an unexpected melancholy edge.

The Cuts:
The exposition really dragged for me; 20 minutes of lore-dump tested my patience. The supporting cast basically disappears, leaving characters like Beerus to just watch. Plus, Frieza’s recycled scheme left me wanting a new wrinkle instead of the same old beats.

Verdict:
Gorgeous animation and a Broly you can root for. Through my Methodist faith lens, themes of compassion, chosen family, and breaking revenge cycles connected with me. Skip if you hate retcons.

Admittedly I haven’t seen a lot of dragon ball but I saw a lot of clips from this movie… brothers and sisters th fighting in this shit was peak. I hope Mark from Invincible gets to this level one day

The animation is phenomenal, blending styles into something kinetic and alive. Broly finally feels like a character, not just a screaming force of rage. It respects longtime fans while elevating the character beyond his origins, turning spectacle into something deeply memorable.
