not me watching this right before i start a drug trial 👹

It just didn’t really hold my attention.

Good movie, thoroughly enjoyed. Feel like the very end was a bit rushed and could have been a little more twisty, but was overall a decent movie. Well acted!

Almost good. Such a unique yet universal idea. The acting was mostly believeable. Every time someone was tired, I reminised the feel-good you get from shutting your eyes after a long, hard day. The score/soundtrack was very much thrilling. It was well used for sure. I found the sterotypical scary things not really as scary as everything else. Also, the director needs a new watch. The timing for things happening in this movie was awful. It took me out straight out of the experience. The cinematography, though, was cool. The camerawork really went with whatever was happening on screen.

I think they could have done a lot more with it. Also I think the world building could have used a lot more work. I would not watch this again but I appreciate it for what it became.

the concept is unique but the results are NOT it

Ok it’s a really fun concept. Trapping a group of desperate young adults in an underground facility and keeping them awake for days on end, knowing that if they fall asleep, they die, obviously sets up a great horror premise. The hallucinations. The conspiracy and turning on one another. Not being able to trust your own mind. So good.

But. The dialogue? Is bad. The writing of this makes it feel like a Netflix original, and I mean that derogatorily. Every scene, the characters say exactly what you think they’re going to. Everyone aside of the lead is a one-dimensional trope with lines picked out of a hat. It’s pretty rough.

But I think the concept, the effects and the lead make up for that. It’s not going to win any awards, but it was tense and creepy. It’s a scary atmosphere, imagining yourself trapped with a man who is so insecure of his own intelligence, he believes the first conspiracy that pops into his head and thinks it’s his responsibility to save everyone, with violence. The truest horror.

Overall, I liked it. It’s well-paced and original, gory and shocking, and that makes for a pretty good time.

Some questionable acting and direction in the first act had me worried, but it actually came together to be a decent watch. A lot darker and more anxiety-inducing than I anticipated.

It was ok. Interesting concept.

This was pretty freakin awesome. Not slow at all.. 15 minutes in and you’re in it.

78/100 was steady film that kept me watching.. everyone wandered off when they should of stayed together
