the one thing this had going for it was the fps bit they did to reference the game, but that’s ALL they did in relation to the game

Surprisingly enjoyable. Not a great adaptation; didn’t really feel like DOOM aside from the POV sequence, but a decent enough movie outside of that

Doom
Has like next to nothing to do with doom. This era of “video game adaptations” that just kinda had nothing to do with the source material and just vaguely referenced it piss me off. Doom could make a sick movie (especially now) and this was a mess.

It works as just a generic early-2000s sci-fi horror clone, not Doom. The first-person shooter sequence is goofy but creatively bold. While the story misunderstands Doom, it keeps recognizable surface elements.

Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The games still better though!

3.1/10 first half of the movie is just teases toward a demon and this movie is nothing like the game.

Doom
Great rewatch. Peak Rock. And a sick 1st person shooter sequence. This movie is actually pretty well made. The only negative is the dark lighting throughout it. The sets seemed great, but unfortunately you could barely see them. 8.5/10

not even Karl Urban could save this movie. his eyebrow pimple worked harder than the entire writing team on this one.
