very good although it was kinda weird at the end when she turned bc they were so inlove because there were barely any scenes showing their romance mostly him telling other people he likes her & he first liked her bc she looks like his dead ex wife like it was cute but kinda off

A very mediocre story, it felt all over the place. The werewolf thing came out of nowhere and was just an unnecessary plot element that contributed no value nor was it hinted to. Not sure what some of the logic on this is but ok🤷♂️.

It’s camp at its finest, not even mentioning the 11/10 casting. Should have been a mini series though. It’s not a faithful adaptation , but a pretty fun standalone. Overall really love this one.

No. No no no. Absolutely not.
I did not like this movie. It was strange—but not in that classic, fun Tim Burton way. Just plain weird… and kind of gross. Why does most of the film consist of Johnny Depp aura farming and sleeping with every woman who isn’t related to him? And seriously, what makes him so desirable? He looks decrepit the entire time.
I’ll admit, there were a few genuinely funny moments, but beyond that, the movie was just fine—and that’s being generous. Some parts of the story could have been interesting, like the idea of an ancestor returning to fix his modern family’s problems, but that potential is completely wasted by poor writing, uneven acting, and weak direction.
And don’t even get me started on the villain. Her entire motivation is that she’s mad he didn’t love her back? Girl. Please. Stand up. Then she takes him back at the end? Not only is that gross, it comes off as weirdly misogynistic and makes zero sense.
Then there’s that random werewolf reveal at the end—what was the point of that? And why is the main love interest’s entire purpose basically being spirit-summoned by his ex? Was she supposed to be a reincarnation or something?
In the end, Dark Shadows feels less like a movie and more like a vanity project designed to stroke Johnny Depp’s ego—everything else comes second. 💀

Lowk tought I was gonna like it but it was boring til like the end. The romance wasn’t even that good in my opinion. With Barnabas and and Angelique they were freaked out. And as for Vicky and barnabas they didn’t show much of them(I wish they did) but I did enjoy the cast tho.

The casting was excellent, it was hilarious but I gave it a like cause’ it was weird in the ending fighting scene. But omg how gorgeous was Eva Green??? Anyways the love was toxic between them but still it kinda broke my heart in the end. And the ending didn't make much sense.

cast 🔛🔝 ambience 🔛🔝 soundtrack 🔛🔝 characters 🔛🔝. i just wish they did more tbh with everything or that there was a sequel or SOMETHING. great concept kind of underutilized in the movie. really enjoyed it tho, nice watch in october.

honestly the plot was kinda meh for me, but since everything else (casting, composition, se) was a pleasure to watch, i still liked it well enough. i must say tho, idk if this is bc my perception of depp has changed or not, but his acting here was not what im used to quality wise

si tuviera sentido algo de lo que ocurre sería mejor, i guess. Ninguno de los personajes femeninos están bien escritos y por mucho que la estética gótica vampiresa me guste no puedo quitarle importancia a lo estúpidas que son algunas de las acciones de los personajes.

maybe I’m biased because I’ve never seen the og, but I love this movie. the casting is perfect, the soundtrack is amazing, it’s got Alice Cooper, it’s funny, it’s campy… idk how anyone can actually hate this movie it rocks 😆🤘🧛♂️🩸
