Unapologetically LOVE this movie. Right up there with Twister as my disaster comfort movies

I forgot how genuinely f-ed up this is 😅 but it’s a great disaster movie! And for a late 90s movie, the film effects are pretty incredible.

Grandma is annoying. But other than that, it’s an exciting film with an incredible effects undertaking that turned out really astonishing.

I saw this in elementary school, and was totally scarred. This movie was completely freaky traumatizing in 6th grade. Made such a terrifying impression on me for years. Too scared to rewatch.

Volcanoes are wild, I could never live near one no matter how long it’s been dormant

Dante’s Peak succeeds in creating suspenseful volcanic chaos and believable small-town panic. Brosnan and Hamilton have good chemistry, & the eruption scenes are engaging. It’s a classic disaster film with heart and suspense.
