A film that moves as still as water, from sound to choreography just as spotless!

P.S: I’ve only one problem with Chinese cinema, they can’t just really stick to the ground and beautiful Kung Fu that Bruce Lee and so many others before him so gracefully mastered…

This was boring dude. Fight scenes were good for the most part, but also ridiculous.

Characters were boring, so was the story. Boring, boring, boring

Everyone loves this movie but me I think

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is one of, if not the most noticeably influential movie of all time, the choreography is spectacular and the cinematography is immaculate, it’s only major flaw I’d say is that if it learns too much and too little into it’s characters if that makes sense.

1st Act 8.7/10 (Really good, just wished we got more action.)

2nd Act 8.4/10 (Dessert part was a bit of a letdown, but it’s still decent.)

3rd Act 9.9/10 (A near-perfect final act, blending the characters and action practically perfectly in a phenomenal final showdown.)

Plot 8.8/10 (On the nose but works very well, QING DYNASTY IS PEAK.)

Soundtrack/Score 9/10 (Embraces the culture, makes the movie feel more timeless.)

Acting 8.8/10 (Michelle Yeoh is a generational talent.)

Pacing 8.8/10 (All over the place but oh my fuck were the actions sequences good, WHY DO THEY JUST BREAK OUT INTO FLYING BRUH.)

Cinematography 9.8/10 (One of the highlights of the movie, especially when it came to the final act.)

Character Development 8.2/10 (Leans too little into some characters and too much into others.)

Writing 9.6/10 (Genuine poetry.)

Ending 9.3/10 (Confused but love the callback, will improve rating on rewatch all round.)

Direction 9.7/10 (ANG LEE IS THE ACTION EQUIVALENT OF LUCAS IN SCI-FI, OFF ONE MOVIE.)

Watched it with my mates, I thought it was fun the story was a bunch of nothing with the message being on the nose. Didn’t care for the characters the action was amazing and the cinematography was great. Overall 8.7/10

An exhilarating martial arts film that is covered in beautiful scenery, especially the treetop sword fight scene at the end. It’s great action with a decent love story, that just seems to be literally filled with magic and wonder. Oh how I yearn to fly through forests.

Epic. Gorgeous setting and awesome action sequences.

it would be a good movie but the flying/floating around really took me out of it. People say its the best action movie ever and I just couldn't get past the floating X(

Great Wushu movie with incorporation of love, fun martial arts to watch, and storytelling about the oppression of women in ancient China.

Alas, another "classic" I just did not enjoy. The story was all over the place, and the action was a bore, save for one excellent sword fight. Everything else is far too floaty, lacks groundedness and tactile sense. Just not my style or taste I guess.

I love the folklore vibe of this film. It doesn’t try to pretend to be anything or hide anything about itself, and it rly makes this such an amazing work of art
